THEO 522 - Catholic Social Teaching
This course offers an overview of the Catholic Social Tradition, focusing on the Church’s official teaching as well as including other documents. In more concrete terms, it studies the connections between the contents of the Catholic faith and their practical applications with a focus on social justice and spirituality. It explores how Catholic moral theology engages contemporary social problems, taking as starting points select topics from the political, economic, legal, social and environmental realms. The course includes case studies that exemplify what is being taught.
